Time flies when you’re having fun!

Time seems to be flying this month. I honestly can’t believe that we are almost into September. But once we get into September it means my trip is that much closer. So really, for this month I am totally fine with how quickly the days are flying by.

For the first three weekends of the month I have had a concert to attend.

First up, Mad Decent Block Party at Merriweather Post pavilion with the beautiful Jennifer.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever felt so old in my life. And overdressed. I wore jeans and a t-shirt which apparently was way too many clothes. It was just odd. So many furry boots, bustiers, high-waisted jean shorts with butt cheeks hanging out. You honestly needed to be there.

The music was fun. We danced, we drank, and we hung out.

Second concert was Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z with the newlywed Laura. We both agreed that we could’ve used a little more HOV and a little less new JT. The show was great. Clearly the both of them know how to entertain audiences and deliver the tunes that are sure to be crowd-pleasers.

The third concert I attended this month took me down memory lane to middle school. Yup, I went to see the Backstreet Boys! And it was glorious! My lovely group of friends decided to make it into a girls weekend so we took it down to Virginia Beach.

Unfortunately we had rainy weather the whole weekend but I really do think we made the most of it. Between celebrating a birthday and going to see the BSB, I don’t think we had a dull moment.

Thankfully, despite how busy I’ve been I have managed to find time to get my runs in. I am beginning to increase my mileage again after taking the end of June and all of July to really get comfortable with running distances once again. Hopefully this method will help keep me injury free. I am also hoping that because I am giving my body time to adapt again that I will be able to run the entire race rather than doing run/walk. On my current long runs, I am working really hard with pacing. I typically start out way too fast and then progressively get slower as the miles increase. So right now my mentality is that even though it seems like an easy pace at the first mile, will I still feel that way during the last mile? So far so good!
