Iceland

Iceland was, in a word, amazing. I know I am majorly guilty of overusing that word, but know that this place truly deserves the adjective.

Chris and I spent our week there taking in all it has to offer.

We left Keflavik airport and headed straight to the Blue Lagoon. The warm milky blue water made adjusting to the colder temperatures much easier. From there we headed to our hostel and went to explore downtown Reykjavik.

The next few days we spent taking tours of the country. We travelled to the Snaefellsnes peninsula to visit fishing villages, the glacier that inspired journey to the center of the earth, and some of the most stunning black pebble beaches I’ve ever seen in my life. We visited the golden circle – Thingvellir park, Gullfoss waterfall, and the Geysir hot springs. From there we went and witnessed the Aurora Borealis. The following day we went to Midlina (bridge between continents), the point where the North American fault meets the Eurasian fault. Iceland grows about an inch every year. As our trip neared its end, we headed out to Jokulsarlon, the glacier lagoon. Easily one of the most unique places I’ve ever been. Our last day was spent whale watching, soaking in more of Reykjavik, and getting a taste of the nightlife. Seriously, you guys, this place was amazing.

I took hundreds of photos, but here are some of my favorites.
