A few weeks ago, Jamie from MASH UP Conditioning contacted me to see if I would be interested in reviewing their TEMPO fitness DVD. Coincidentally, I had just been yammering on and on to Chris about how I needed to get something that was a little more difficult than the 30 Day Shred but not as time-consuming and hard as our p90x DVDs. I like to keep a few DVDs as options at home for when the weather is terrible, I’m pressed for time, etc etc.
MASH UP Conditioning offers exercisers 7 individual workouts that are 15 minutes each. Each workout spends 5 minutes focusing on mind/body, agility and strength, and high intensity intervals.
Honestly, I was a little apprehensive when I started the workout. Fifteen minutes for an entire workout? That just seemed … short. I’m not new to the HIIT workout regimen, but I decided to commit to a thirty minute workout since its what I usually do.
I popped in the DVD and got down to business. Chris watched me move through the movements and pointed out how quickly I broke a sweat (thanks babe!). I was totally wrong about needing to do more than fifteen minutes. I did do my planned thirty minutes. And I paid for it later. The good kind of sore. Oh yeah!
I really enjoyed this DVD because of it’s variety. One of my main pet peeves about at home fitness DVDs is that it’s the same thing over and over again. With MASH UP conditioning I am able to choose and create my own flow based on what I want. And with the seven choices, I can’t see myself becoming bored anytime soon.
And honestly, I can’t really see anyone else becoming bored either. The segments are short, but effective. You do each move for a minute or so and the timer on the screen helps you push a little longer since you can literally see the seconds ticking down. For me that is key because I can become discouraged with “how much longer til it’s over” thoughts and this DVD has prevented that feeling.
One lucky person will get to be the proud new owner of MASH UP Conditioning’s TEMPO DVD. Enter below!
